Your Responsibility
Your personal responsibilities upon joining Naelthira are listed below.
Out of Character(OOC)
- Treat every contributor, staff member, and visitor with respect.
- No Harassment – Repeated Insults, Belittling, Mocking, etc.
- No Doxxing – No publishing the real-life personal details of others (real names, locations, photos, social media, or employment details, etc.)
- No Stalking – Don’t follow others across multiple platforms after being asked to stop contacting them.
- No Unsolicited Sexual Harassment – Do not send others unwanted sexual comments, suggestive messages, or explicit images, personal or otherwise.
- No Dogpilling – Do not rally a group of members to attack, exclude, or otherwise target others collectively.
- No Weaponizing In-Character Actions – Do not use in-character mechanics or actions to target or ruin the experience for someone due to grudges.
- No Impersonation – Do not impersonate other people or entities like corporations and other groups.
- Treat the site with respect.
- No Vandalism – Do not systematically target the wiki pages or posts of others by unauthorized editing, corruption, or leaving malicious comments on them.
- No Leaking Private Communications – Do not share screenshots from direct private messages or staff support tickets publicly. A staff member may ask for a screenshot privately to prove a breach of the rules or conduct.
- No Multiple Accounts – You may create only one account per individual for each part of the site. The Wiki and the Forums require a separate account.
- No Public Drama – Keep any personal arguments out of public channels. Take private disagreements to DMs.
- Respect the site boundaries and restrictions.
- This website is for users who are 18 years of age or older. Access to NSFW and 18+ Content may require age verification at the discretion of the staff.
- Do not post NSFW material in public areas.
- Do not spam or self-promote unless it is an area designated for it.
- Do not publicly berate or flame staff members. Grievances should be handled in DMs.
- Follow the Site’s Other Policies
In Character(IC) Writing Etiquette
- Consent
- You must get a player’s permission before harming their character.
- You have the right not to participate in any roleplay that makes you feel uncomfortable.
- You must get a player’s consent to do any kind of sexual roleplay.
- You may revoke your consent at any time.
- No Metagaming
- Your character cannot use information obtained OOC from chats, wiki pages, or other posts that they have not learned in the story.
- No Puppetting
- You cannot write reactions, movements, or thoughts for another player’s character.
- Follow GM Direction
- You control your character; their thoughts, feelings, actions, etc. It is up to the GM to describe the setting, NPCs, etc.
- Avoid making dramatic diversions from the path of the story without discussing them with the GM first.
- Read and Understand Relevant Posts
- Read the posts of the GMs and other players to ensure you comprehend what is happening in the story.
- Write posts that make sense for the scene. (Don’t throw snowballs in the desert.)
Our Responsibility
Our responsibilities as staff members are listed below.
- We will judge infractions and breaches of rules based on evidence rather than personal friendships.
- We will follow the rules and responsibilities of the site.
- Professional Moderation
- We will respect confidentiality when resolving conflicts.
- We will not abuse our ability to edit or censor the works of our contributors.
- We will enforce the site rules and issue warnings and bans when appropriate. The length of bans is at the discretion of the staff.
- We will respond swiftly to infractions and breaches in conduct.
- We will keep Staff Chats Private.
- We will conduct maintenance and updates on the site.
- We will protect the data of the site.
- We will conduct backups and install updates regularly.
- We will announce any major changes to the site or its policies.
- We will maintain a professional site and maintain the wiki and the forum.
- We will be transparent with the allocation of any donated funds and the expenses of the site.
